Taking minutes at meetings
o taking notes during LINk work group meetings
o producing accurate minutes in standard LINk template 3 working days after the meeting has taken place and send to LINk office
Helping with large mail outs
o photocopying papers
o stuffing envelopes with relevant information
o sticking address labels on envelopes
o sticking stamps on envelopes
Organising LINk Events
o booking suitable venues
o arranging catering
o arranging entertainment / stall holders / speakers / facilitators
o designing / sending out invites
o collating responses and spreadsheets
o attending on the day, e.g. welcoming people at reception
o photocopying papers
o arranging transport for attendees and recording this information
o organising / ordering marketing materials needed for the event
o Phoning potential attendees to check attendance and recording this information
Helping at festivals / LINk promotional stands
o organising marketing materials and equipment needed prior to the event
o attendance at festivals / promotional stands – this will involve approaching and engaging members of the public to talk to them about the work of the LINk, gather issues, comments and encourage membership (this information must be recorded for the LINk office)
o carrying out an audit of marketing materials returned to the LINk office following the festival / promotional event
o recording all information gathered at festivals / promotional events in the LINk office
If you would like to volunteer please contact the LINk office on 0113 388 5099 or e-mail leeds.link@shaw-trust.org.uk stating which opportunity you are interested in volunteering for. The LINk office will send you a list of the skills required for that task along with what time commitment this will involve and you will then be asked to submit a personal statement of no more than 300 words detailing how you meet these requirements and what training you would require, if any.
Please note that expenses incurred for these activities, such as travel will be met in line with the LINk finance guidance which can be found on the LINk website at www.leedslink.org.uk, or you can request a hard copy from the LINk office.
