Mystery Shopper

Leeds LINk is carrying out a 'mystery shopper' excercise to check that dental practices in Leeds are displaying the NHS Dental Charges poster.  If you would like to take part in this exercise please contact Kirstie Shapley at the LINk office on 0113 388 5099 or email kirstie.shapley@shaw-trust.org.uk

To carry out this exercise, LINk members will be going into their local NHS dental practice and check if they have the NHS Dental Charges Poster (see link below to see what the poster looks like) displayed in the waiting room.  Then either fill in the attached form (which Kirstie will provide) and return to the LINk or simply phone or email  Kirstie giving details of which dental practice you visited and if the poster was displayed or not.  If you would like paper copies of the poster and questionnaires please get in touch and we can post these out to you.  We look forward to receiving your responses.

All results will be fed back to NHS Leeds and published on the LINk website.

Leeds LINk has paid another Enter and View visit to Cookridge Court and Grange Care Home in LS16 following an initial visit made in August 2010. The Care of the Elderly in hospital was the subject of a health service ombudsman report (published 15th February 2011). The Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (LTHT) was not one of the Trusts mentioned in the ombudsman report, however the LINk steering group agreed that this was an issue that the LINk needed to monitor in Leeds.  A group of members carried out 3 enter and view visits to elderly care wards at St James’ hospital in Leeds during July, August and September 2011 to look at the care of the elderly.  Members were pleased with the high standard of cleanliness on the wards and care of patients.  There were some minor concerns raised during the visits.  The Trust have provided information and highlighted actions in order to address any concerns that were raised.  The full report for these visits is available or a copy can be obtained by contacting the office on 0113 388 5099
